Yücel Yilmaz
I was born in Istanbul, raised and lived in Germany before moving to Greenwich, London in 2004. I have spent 17 years of my career in international finance; most recently as a senior manager in the structured finance industry having worked in Berlin, Dublin and London. I’ve hired, managed and developed staff and describe my management style as ‘management by coaching’. I’ve experienced the effectiveness of coaching in the early nineties when I was coached by a very inspiring coach. Since then I have been coached on other occasions and trained in different coaching techniques. I have utilized these techniques throughout my career in dealing with executive management, peers, staff and HR. I have also been involved with graduate trainee-programs, participated as a speaker at international conferences and specialist training programmes.
In 2007 I decided to take a career break and travelled Europe and Asia with my wife Katrin. In order to better understand the mind, increase my awareness and in my search for purpose and meaning of life, I studied ancient cultures, religions, philosophical aspects of Buddhism, Yoga, Zen and Sufism. I describe myself as a free spirit and student of life, who trusts life and is excited about the challenges as well as the beauties of it.
I’ve trained with a number of different companies as well as with Unitive Life Coaching UK experiencing a variety of techniques. I found that the flexibility and authenticity of the Unitive approach to life coaching reflects my understanding of coaching best. I am also a member of the ICF, AC and EMCC. I describe my coaching style as non-directive and believe in the inherent potential in everybody. You can expect to gain more clarity about what is important to you in life, have more access to your creative side, be more successful in whatever you do and have more enhanced relationships.
